Fiat has introduced its newly developed TwinAir two-cylinder 85 HP powertrain, which will be marketed starting September on the 500 and the 500C. The first of a new family of two-cylinder engines, this powertrain features the MultiAir system combined with specific fluid dynamics for improved fuel efficiency. Fiat said that the new family, which produces from 65 to 105hp, has 43% less CO2 emissions than an engine of similar performance. This new TwinAir 85 HP two-cylinder engine is expected to complement other solutions in the Fiat 500 that has reduced fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
