Acura denies plan to drop RL sedan

Acura denies plan to drop RL sedanAs you may know already, last Friday, Nikkei newspaper announced that Honda will stop selling the Legend sedan in Japan but also its sister from the United States, the Acura RL.

Due to this report, Acura decided to respond and issued an official statement saying that the RL sedan model will not be discontinued. “These reports are untrue. The RL continues to be the flagship for the Acura brand and we have no plans to discontinue it.” said Gary Robinson, manager of Acura public relations. Regarding the sales we might say that the Acura RL isn’t actually a hit on the market as the sedan was sold in just 872 units through the first six months of the year while Lexus sold 5,650 copies of the LS sedan and Infiniti sold 6,602 copies of the M sedan.
